After several days of rain, we finally got a break on Wednesday. But the blocking pattern that brought us multiple days of rain is still in place, and the next upper level low pressure is moving toward the US east coast on Thursday… and that will mean another round of rain for the Hudson Valley and Northeast.
THURSDAY… Clouds will mix with a few breaks of sun, with highs in the upper 60s. Clouds thicken late day, and scattered showers & T-Storms develop late in the day (40% chance).
THURSDAY NIGHT… Mainly cloudy with areas of rain showers becoming more widespread and steadier overnight. Temps will fall into the upper 40s and low 50s.
FRIDAY… A period of moderate to heavy rain is likely for the Friday AM commute and periods of rain showers last through the day into the night… before slowly tapering Saturday.

Keep in mind, the details above (timing and intensity of the rain) could change, especially for Friday. But the general theme of unsettled weather, with periods of soaking rainfall, are expected. Widespread rainfall totals of 1.5 to 3 inches are possible by Saturday afternoon. Make sure you take this into account for your plans over the next 48 hours. We’ll share any updates and alerts as we go. Stay dry, Hudson valley!
