Do you feel that? Wind blowing out of the NW! Hasn’t been much of that this summer! Unfortunately, like the last few times, it will be brief.
Dew-points into the 50’s and 60’s feels brisk when compared to the 70+ dew-points that have been so persistent. The drier air will stick around through the bulk of the weekend with dew points starting to creep back up by Sunday evening. Temps have also responded well post cold front and will remain slightly below average till about Sunday when temps will edge towards average. As we head into next week the humidity will return, but there’s a catch! The high temps will not be a package deal with the humidity next week, the above average temps don’t truly build back in until the end of next week. But wait! There’s more! The reason for the humidity but not the above average temps we’ve grown so accustom to is a period of unsettled weather beginning early next week.

An area of low pressure appears to develop offshore and move into eastern New England, this will help to drive moisture and clouds into the region which look to persist for the first half of the week. This will keep the humidity high but temps low.

Rainfall amounts don’t appear to be very significant, especially over the 3-4 day period things will be unsettled, looks like .50” to 1.25” of rain is possible through Thursday. Now for you heat lovers, we’re not done yet, indications are that by the end of next week into next weekend the heat will also build back into the region with above average temps from around August 3rd and beyond. The gardens will enjoy this brief intermission and some beneficial rainfall, there’s still plenty of summer left in the tank!
