Another cool start across the region with clear skies and calm wind enabling strong radiational cooling with temps into the upper 40’s and 50’s as everyone starts their weekend. All in all, both weekend days look decent, but today gets a better rating vs tomorrow for a few reasons. Today will feature high temps in the upper 70’s and low 80’s with fairly low and comfortable dew-points. Let’s take a look!

Above is max temps today and dew-points, basically your ideal late summer day with average temps and comfortable dew-points. Tomorrow has a few potential flys in the ointment, but again- still a great day for the most part. Tomorrow a noticeable shift into a southerly flow will help temps edge a bit higher than today, with more widespread temps into the 80’s and our valley locations trying to push into the mid 80’s. In addition this will also help push humidity back into the region, let’s take a look.

As you can see, clearly a slight bump up in both temps and dew-points tomorrow. Additionally, a small piece of energy will swing through the region tomorrow morning which may trigger some showers between 10am and noon, with some widely scattered showers possible during the afternoon, although any precipitation looks very scattered and short lived, it is something to be prepared for.
Sunday will set the stage for the upcoming week, which as a whole looks slightly warmer with a noticeable uptick in humidity which will linger until about mid-week when another cold front swings into the region. Be aware for the potential for a few pop up thunderstorms on Monday afternoon, some of which may become strong to severe as another piece of energy swings into the region. Otherwise we hope you all have a tremendous weekend as we begin to put a bow on summer and head into the roller coast battle between warmth and humidity, and the inevitability of colder fall air masses fighting their way south.
