Computer guidance is almost unanimous at this time, taking the low pressure system currently impacting Texas and Arkansas… east/northeast off the coast of North Carolina by Saturday morning. It then continues eastward, out to sea. The swath of heaviest snow is likely to fall from NE Texas through Arkansas and into Tennessee.

So while the potential for a major snowstorm is very likely to not be realized once again. There is the possibility that enough moisture does push northeast Friday overnight and on into Saturday morning… so that a period of light snow is possible across the region. There is some mixed data on the details… but a dusting to an inch or so appears possible. The light snow develops overnight Friday, tapering off before noon on Saturday. We’ll continue to monitor the details on Friday, and let you know if this looks more or less likely.
It won’t be a significant event, but it’s possible that any Saturday morning travel plans could be a bit slick due to a period of light snow. Keep that in mind if you will be on the roads Saturday morning. More info to come on Friday… TGIF
