After a hot and humid week, spring has settled back into the Hudson Valley. Winds out of the northeast, associated with a trough over eastern Canada, has allowed cooler and more importantly drier air back into the region. Dew points have fallen into the 50s, which is MUCH more comfortable than the dew point readings in the 70s that saw earlier this week.
Clouds will mix with sunshine this afternoon, and highs will climb into the mid and upper 70s. Tonight, open up those windows… as temps will fall into the mid and upper 50s under partly to mostly cloudy skies, which will be great sleeping weather. But we’ll see some clouds by morning on Saturday as a weak frontal boundary sinking south through NY state. A scattered shower or two can’t be ruled out Saturday morning as it moves through. But sunshine should mix back in for the afternoon on Saturday, as highs remain cooler than recent days… in the low to mid 70s.
Sunday we’ll have a mix of clouds and sunshine once again. A cold front approaching from the west will bring clouds and a chance of late day showers and thundershowers back to the region. Highs on Sunday are likely to be in the mid to upper 70s
A very nice weekend lining up for the region. While the heat lovers will probably be disappointed in the cooler air mass… on the whole, most residents of the Hudson Valley will be very pleased with the more spring-like air mass in place this weekend. More than anything, the low humidity is probably the most welcome sight. Either way, we hope you all have a great weekend!
