Friday Weekend Outlook: Summer in Full Effect

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy with a scattered late day T-Storm possible. High in the mid 80s. Chance of rain 30%

FRI NIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers, especially south of I-84. Low in the low 60s.

SATURDAY: Partly to mostly sunny, with seasonable temperatures. High in the mid 80s.

SAT NIGHT: Partly cloudy skies and comfortable. Low in the mid 50s

SUNDAY: Sunshine mixed with clouds. High in the mid to upper 80s.

A seasonable summer weekend on tap for the Hudson Valley. Afternoon highs in the mid to upper 80s is close to where we should be for this time of year, maybe a degree or two warmer. But most of the valley looks dry as well for the coming weekend.

The first graphic shows projected high temperatures for the Hudson Valley on Friday afternoon. Highs on Saturday and Sunday look very similar, maybe a degree or two cooler than today. Highs in the valley in the mid to upper 80s… and the Catskills in the upper 70s to low 80s.

The second image is projected precipitation from Friday through Sunday, for the Hudson Valley. You can see that the lower Hudson Valley might see 0.10” to 0.20” of rain… and that comes Friday night. A weak disturbance will slide through just to our south Friday evening, and could spread showers and possibly a rumble or two of thunder. The timing looks to be mostly 6pm through 3am tonight. Showers are possible across the valley, with the best chance being below I-84.

In the long range, the heat will try to build once again mid to late next week… possibly bringing temps that were hotter than last week’s. We’ll keep our eye on that. Have a great Weekend!!
