Heat Wave Becomes Official on Wednesday

Monday and Tuesday were completely oppressive across the Hudson Valley. While Wednesday will make the heat wave official (3 consecutive days with temperatures of 90° or higher)… it should be much less intense than the beginning of the week.

Monday & Tuesday saw highs in the mid to upper 90s… and oppressive humidity levels gave us ‘real feel’ Heat Index values between 105° and 112°. The heat will remain on Wednesday, but the humidity levels will lessen just a bit. Wednesday should see highs between 90° to 95°… and afternoon real feel temps in the mid 90s.
It’s going to be another scorcher of a day… but should not feel quite as severe, with ‘real feel’ heat index values about 10° cooler. Still, a Heat Advisory is in effect for the entire region. The high temperatures and humidity could still cause heat exhaustion if you’re not careful… so be sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks from direct sun exposure.

Clouds and scattered showers arrive on Thursday along with a weak frontal boundary from the Northeast. This will hold temperatures down in the 60s and 70s… a tremendous difference from the weather of the past few days. So please make sure you’re ready for some major changes to close out the work week. For more information on the cooler weather, you can check out our earlier post… we’ll link to it in the comments below. Have a great Wednesday!
