Our Monday soaker continues across the Hudson Valley, as the rain continues to feed into are area from the west. On the latest radar, you can see that the heaviest and steadiest rain is focused on the upper half of the Hudson Valley and Catskills at this point. From I-84 on south… we’re beginning to see some breaks in the precipitation, allowing the showers to ease up at times.
That said, we anticipate periods of light to moderate rain showers to continue through the afternoon. Winds are out of the east, and the fall like air mass to our north has ushered in chilly temperatures, in the mid to upper 50s for most locations… with even some upper 40s in the Catskills. It’s making for a very wet… raw… chilly afternoon.
A warm front will shift winds out of the SW tonight, and usher in warmer air. Temps tonight will rise into the 60s… and possibly into the low 70s by sunrise on Tuesday. The instability will remain with us however… with scattered showers possible into the morning hours on Tuesday.
