A hot and muggy start to the start of the work week… with a fair amount of sunshine mixing with clouds.
Any plans to start the work week should not be impacted by the weather… but it will surely feel like the middle of summer. But some instability will be approaching the region Monday night, out ahead of an approaching frontal boundary. This will cause some scattered showers and embedded T-Storms to develop Monday evening and Monday night.
The unsettled weather from Monday night will linger in the region on into Tuesday. A much different day is expected for our Tuesday across the Hudson Valley. We expect mostly cloudy skies, and cooler temperatures thanks to those low clouds and patchy showers and drizzle. Highs on Tuesday are expected to be in the mid to upper 70s… but don’t expect any relief in the humidity on Tuesday, with dew points in the 70s expected.
But relief is on the way… with an approaching cold front from the north, that will expand our showers and thunderstorms to become widespread across the valley.
A very unsettled Tuesday night into Wednesday is expected, with lots of clouds and showers, scattered all over the region. Conditions should begin to improve Wednesday afternoon as the front pushes to our south. Once the front passes… expect lower humidity and cooler temperatures for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday (afternoon highs in the 70s, overnight lows in the 50s).
However, we need to keep our eyes on Hurricane Debby, because if she pushes further north, it could keep us unsettled on Wednesday into Thursday. But as it looks right now… the boundary should push south, near DC and Philly. So if you have mid week plans, be sure to check back as we get closer.
