Monday Weather Discussion : Mild Start to the Week

After a rainy and raw Sunday across the Hudson Valley… things should be mostly dry for the start of the week.
Monday will be mostly cloudy with a few isolated rain showers possible here and there. Clouds will be widespread, and a sprinkle or two are possible… but for the most part, Monday should be dry. Highs on Monday should climb into the low 70s, especially if we see some breaks of sunshine.  Then on Tuesday, the clouds give way to increasing amounts of sunshine. Highs on Tuesday should climb into the mid 70s, about 5 degrees above average for this time of year. A very nice day likely on Tuesday.
However, the coming week appears more unsettled than anything else. We’ll have numerous weak storm systems push through the region, bringing frequent bouts of clouds and scattered showers to the region. Late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning is the first threat.  A weak system moves into the Great Lakes and could spread some clouds along with some scattered light rain showers that should taper off by mid day Wednesday.  Our next threat rolls in during the day on Thursday, and could keep us damp and unsettled into Friday.  Guidance hasn’t worked out the details, but Friday could be a raw and ugly day, with drizzle and showers along with low clouds and temps in the 40s.  But those details could change.
We’ll have a couple nice days in part of Monday and Tuesday… and possibly Wednesday afternoon.  But there is a good portion of the work week that looks unsettled and damp.  The total rainfall amounts between now and next Sunday are about 1 to 1.5 inches of rain… with most of that falling Thursday into Friday (0.25″ to 0.75″).  As always, we’ll have more as we head through the week.  But this is a preview of what you can expect.  Have a great week!
