Monday Weather Outlook : Summer Settles In

This time last week, a scorching heat wave was moving into the Hudson Valley, after weeks of cool & unsettled weather. This week we’ve got summertime weather on tap. Monday will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine in the region. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s to near 90°, which is roughly 5° to 8° above average for this time of year. The humidity levels should creep up a bit also, making it feel like the low 90s at the peak of the day.
We’ll also be watching for the potential of some evening scattered showers & T-Storms in the region. Some guidance suggests a broken squall line of showers and storms moving through near midnight Monday night. We’ll track it late on Monday and let you know if it looks likely. The potential for severe weather appears low.

Tuesday we’ll see similar conditions as Monday in terms of heat and humidity, with highs again in the upper 80s, and real feel temps in the low to mid 90s. But in addition, we’ll be tracking a frontal boundary bringing the threat for severe weather late Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Right now, the threat appears marginal, but that could change as we get closer to the event. Damaging wind gusts are the primary concern with the severe storm threat… with roughly a 5% to 15% chance as of this post. Be sure to check back for updated information as we get closer to the event.

Be sure to stay cool, Hudson Valley… summer is in full swing! Have a great start to your week!
