Monday’s Weather : One More Mild Day

The first half of January has been very cold in the eastern half of the country. But Sunday was, and now Monday will be milder than it’s been, with highs expected near 40° in the Hudson Valley. But an approaching cold front will bring an end to all that by Monday night.
The front moves through around the evening commute on Monday, so a brief burst of snow showers can’t be ruled out as the front passes… especially in the northern half of the valley. But behind the front temps will tumble into the upper teens by Tuesday morning. Highs on Tuesday will be about 10 to 15 degrees colder… only in the mid to upper 20s for highs.
But a strong upper level low pressure out in the Atlantic will bring gusty NW winds to the region once again… very similar to last week. That will mean wind gusts 20 to 30mph. That will take those afternoon temperatures in the 20s, and make for wind chills in the mid teens!
Even worse will be the overnight and early morning wind chills in the single digits! These conditions will be with us from Tuesday through Thursday… so make sure you prepare for a VERY chilly week ahead.

Stay warm, Hudson Valley!
