Monday’s Weather Outlook

Another cold day on tap for the Hudson Valley to start our first work week of 2026. Clouds will move in early, and be with us for most of the day. Temps will start out in the teens, but then climb near 30° by mid afternoon. A weak wave of energy passing by in southern Canada will spread a wave of light snow showers to our north during the day. Those could touch off a few snow showers during the day, especially north of I-84. These could provide a dusting in a few spots, but widespread issues are not expected.
Slightly milder air moves in for Tuesday, with highs climbing into the mid 30s as another weak system approaches from the west. Light precipitation moves in during the early afternoon on Tuesday, and could see some light scattered showers mixing with freezing drizzle in the colder spots around the region. Temperatures will be critical to determine if roadways are just wet or if it’s an icy glaze in spots. This could make for some treacherous afternoon travel Tuesday afternoon in spots… something we’ll be watching closely.

Behind this weak system… temperatures will continue to gradually climb during the second half of the week. And a January thaw is on the way by late week and into the weekend. Something that will be very welcome for some of our viewers. We’ll have more on that as we go through the week. Have a great start to your week!
