Rain Continues to Elude, Cooler Weekend

Welp… rain will once again be nearby but will avoid the region with nothing more than some glancing showers across our northern most zones.

A look at total precipitation shows the majority of this next rain maker will once again be to our north, leaving our region parched as this dry autumn continues. After what was a record warm Halloween for some reporting stations across the region, the warmth will continue into Friday with temps some 20-25° above normal.

The system responsible for the rain that we are sidelined for will drag a frontal boundary through the region later tonight. This will help to knock temps back down the normal for the weekend, but the return to normal will be brief. As above normal temps return next week and look to persist through the first 8-10 days of November as a ridge builds across the eastern half of the country. True fall weather looks to be on hold until atleast mid November, in addition our next shot at meaningful rain appears to also be on hold till atleast next weekend or beyond, we will monitor the data on the potential as we head into next week.
