Winds in the wake of last nights cold front will remain gusty at times early this morning and begin to subside by later this morning into early this afternoon. This will allow temps to rebound a bit this afternoon with valley locations touching near 40, with mid 30’s elsewhere. While cooler, an improvement from this mornings lows which combined with gusty winds have made for a chilly morning across the region.
Weather will remain unsettled as we close the week and begin the weekend with rain breaking out Friday afternoon and lingering through Saturday. Temps will surge into the upper 60’s to near 70 on Saturday, unfortunately the weather won’t cooperate, by Sunday the moisture departs but colder air will sweep in behind the frontal boundary. Comparably, temps on Sunday won’t get out of the 40’s for most, so unfortunately the warmest day looks wet, and the drier day colder, but that’s spring in the Northeast. Rainfall amounts on average between Friday and Sunday will be between .40” and .75” with some higher amounts across the Catskills.
