After a very mild Tuesday, another cold front will reach the Hudson Valley on Wednesday, bringing another round of much needed rainfall.
SUMMARY:
– Rain develops late afternoon from west to east (4pm to 7pm)
– Moderate to heavy rain just after sunset
– Rain tapers by midnight in most locations
– Catskills: wet snow, around 1 to 3 inches possible
Rain likely develops in most locations right around the evening commute. It could fall steadily for a while and should taper off around midnight.

A soaking half inch of rain is likely in most parts of the valley (between 0.30″ and 0.70″). Cold air will be pushing into the region, changing any rain over to wet snow in the Catskills. But temperatures are expected to remain just warm enough to remain a cold rain in the valley areas. Temps in the mid 40s, fall into the mid and upper 30s by the time everything tapers off around or shortly after midnight. Thursday in the Hudson Valley looks brisk and dry… with highs expected to be in the upper 30s, under a mix of clouds and sunshine.
We continue to closely monitor the potential for some light snow late on Friday into Saturday. Right now it looks like a dusting to a couple inches… but there is a slight potential (20%) for a more significant event. More updates on Wednesday… have a good night!
