Rainfall Recap : Friday 9/29 – Saturday 9/30

While many in the Hudson Valley were lucky on Friday, the same can not be said for our viewers in parts of Rockland, Putnam & Westchester counties. We became increasingly confident on Thursday, that someone in the tri-state area would see extreme rainfall that would lead to serious flooding. The torrential rains were focused on the NYC area, and the extreme lower Hudson Valley. New Rochelle & Elmsford led the Hudson Valley with 6.49 and 6.24 inches of rain respectively… the highest amounts in the Hudson Valley. Some other insane totals:
– Valley Stream (LI) : 9.06″ ….. – JFK Airport : 8.65″
– Brooklyn : 7.34″ …….. – East Rockaway : 7.90″
– Midtown Manhattan : 6.09″ ….. – Central Park : 5.80″
– LaGuardia Airport : 4.82″ ….. – Bronx (Fordham) : 6.19″
– Staten Island : 2.93″
Just an awful situation for those in the NYC area. We were lucky in much of the Hudson Valley to dodge this one.
