Rainy and Raw Start to the Weekend

After a gorgeous Thursday, and a spring-like Friday… a rainy, raw and almost late winter-like Saturday awaits. Cold air will filter in from New England, and a stalled trough over the region will cause rainfall to develop over portions of central NY and eastern PA during the morning Saturday… and that rainfall will gradually push eastward, arriving in parts of the Hudson Valley by late morning and early afternoon. The rain will expand across the majority of the region by mid afternoon… and continue into the evening hours, falling moderately at times.
Temperatures will start out in the upper 40s around the region, but fall into the low 40s and even some upper 30s as the rain becomes steadier around the Hudson Valley. A light to moderate breeze at times will make it feel like the low to mid 30s around the region during the mid and late afternoon. Making for a very raw, wintry like feel to our Saturday in the Hudson Valley.
Rainfall totals will vary around the region… with the highest totals likely closest to the NY/PA border… where between 1.0″ and 1.5″ of rain could fall. Further north and east, rainfall totals should be less… likely between 0.5″ and 1.0″ for places like Dutchess and Columbia counties.

Sunday looks a little better, with some breaks of sun… but still a rather chilly day with temps in the upper 50s for highs. Make sure you factor all this into your weekend plans. We’ll have more updates on the details as things get closer Friday night and Saturday AM. Enjoy your nice Friday weather! TGIF everyone.
