Thursday’s Weather: Blustery & Turning Colder

You can feel the changes in the air around the region on this 2nd day of 2025. NW winds 15 to 30mph, gusting over 40mph at times… so our Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10pm tonight.

10:30am Conditions:
Temperatures: Mid to upper 30s.
Winds: NW 10 to 25mph, gusting over 30mph.
Wind Chills: Upper 20s & low 30s

Thursday 1/2/25 10:30am Radar Loop

The chill will gradually settle into the region, ushered in by strong NW winds. On the current radar loop, you can see the wind direction based on the orientation of the LES (Lake Effect Snow) bands. The usual snow belts are going to see upwards of a foot of snow over the next 48 hours. But here in the Hudson Valley and Catskills… just a few flurries and scattered snow showers. The Catskills could see a coating to an inch in steadier snow showers. While the Hudson Valley sees scattered flurries, possibly a snow shower. A dusting of snow can’t be ruled out… especially in the mid and upper Hudson Valley.

Friday High Temperatures:

Expect similar conditions for Friday, clouds mixed with sun… blustery and colder. Highs on Friday in the mid 30s… with overnight lows in the low 20s expected. Each day should get progressively colder, so as we head into the weekend expect highs in the upper 20s and low 30s. Bundle up Hudson Valley!
