The middle of summer is feeling very much like the middle of summer, across the Hudson Valley. Wednesday will see the heat build and the humidity rise just a touch.
Highs will be right near normal (maybe a degree or two above normal) for this time of year. The region will remain dry on Wednesday, despite the heat and slightly higher humidity.
Thursday will be a different story for the region, as a line of showers and thunderstorms will approach the region for the afternoon hours. The threat begins for the Catskills first, in the early to mid afternoon. The majority of the Hudson Valley will see the threat primarily between 3pm and 8pm (earliest N&W, latest closest to NYC). There will be the potential of some storms being strong to severe, but we’ll need to monitor the timing. At the moment, the severe threat looks highest north and west of the Hudson Valley.
Behind the front, things will dry out a bit, but the summer heat will remain. Expect highs in the mid to upper 80s to be with us for the foreseeable future. The positive spin, is that the humidity for the coming weekend doesn’t look too terrible.
Have a great Wednesday!
