For at least one day, we’ll have a taste of summer across the Hudson Valley.
Partly to mostly sunny skies are likely on Wednesday. Our winds will be out of the southwest, ushering in a much warmer airmass to the Hudson Valley. We saw the warmth start moving in on Tuesday… but on Wednesday the heat will settle in, and highs across the valley are likely to be between 80° and 85°. The average high for the date is in the mid 60s… making Wednesday potentially 15 to 20 degrees above average in some places. A gorgeous spring day that will feel like summer to many. The humidity should be low on Wednesday, making it feel even better across the region.
We’ll be watching an approaching frontal boundary from the north, which could reach the northern HV by late afternoon and early evening. Guidance is split on whether we’ll see a few scattered showers or rumbles of thunder toward evening. For now, we’re thinking it’s not too likely, but we’ll have to keep an eye on the possibility.
Futurecast Radar : 4pm to midnight
Timing would likely be between 6pm and 9pm if it happens, and the chances are best the further north of I-84 you go.
