An unsettled and humid Wednesday on tap for the Hudson Valley. An upper level trough will swing through the region today, bringing with it, the persistent threat of scattered showers and possibly even a rumble of thunder or two.
Wednesday High Temperatures

Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 80s. The humid atmosphere will make for a rather sticky summer day. But in addition to the muggy airmass in place across the Hudson Valley, the upper level trough mentioned above will provide a rotation to the atmosphere over the eastern 2/3 of NY state. This will spin up scattered convective showers and even a few thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon. Not everyone will see showers, but most will at some point. Some areas will see heavier and more persistent downpours.
Projected Hudson Valley Rainfall

You can see on the projected rainfall map, there are areas of lighter green, indicating less rainfall, near 0.10 to 0.20 inches… and there are darker blues and greens indicating rainfall amounts near a half inch. So be on the lookout for scattered afternoon showers and T-Storms across the region on Wednesday.
Looking ahead to Thursday and Friday… Thursday looks hot but mostly sunny and dry… with highs near 90°, while Friday we will have to monitor the potential for more scattered showers and storms.
Have a great day!!
