The upper level low pressure system remains stalled over the eastern US, and that will keep us unsettled and damp in the Hudson Valley. Scattered on and off light rain showers and areas of patchy drizzle will be with us through the day. The low clouds and drizzle will keep temperatures pinned down in the upper 50s to low 60s through the day on Wednesday. The rain is not likely to be heavy… but even with on and off scattered showers, we could see a quarter to a half inch of rain by Thursday morning.

This graphic shows the total rainfall by Thursday night… but most of it falls on Wednesday, so make sure you have the rain gear handy for Wednesday.
Most of the drizzle should taper off by Thursday, but don’t expect big improvements in our weather for Thursday. We should see clouds mix with a few peeks of sun, and a spot shower can’t be ruled out. Temperatures look warmer on Thursday, climbing into the upper 60s and low 70s Thursday afternoon.
Looking to the weekend, another upper level trough approaches, and could keep us quite unsettled through the weekend. It doesn’t look like a washout, but much like the weather we’ll see between Tuesday and Thursday… the weekend could look similar in many ways. We’ll see if that changes as we get closer…
