Another beautiful weekend of weather in store for the Hudson Valley. Some early morning rain showers pushed through with a frontal boundary Friday morning, with that broundary setting up to our south for the coming weekend. That will mean dry conditions, decreasing humidity levels, and temperatures that are close to, or slightly below average for this time of year. The average high in Poughkeepsie for this time of year is about 84°, with overnight lows near 60°. So we will be near the average during the day, and a few degrees cooler at night. Outdoor plans will be uniterrupted by the weather, with partly to mostly sunny skies… near normal temps, and low humidity levels.
The downside is that we’ve been seeing less and less rainfall around the region, so while we started out 2022 with plenty of rainfall, things are drying out around the region. The northern Hudson Valley and eastern Catskills are now on the fringe of ‘abnormally dry’ conditions per the drought monitor. That’s because in the past 60 days, the Hudson Valley has seen roughly half of the normal precipitation. The Catskills have been closer to normal, but the valley could use some rainfall. The next 5 days won’t bring any relief, only increasing heat heading into next week.
Enjoy your weekend!
