This first full weekend of September will feel like fall is in the air… and along the way we’ll have some rain showers to contend with, so for those of you with outdoor plans, let’s talk about the details.

- AM clouds with patchy areas of drizzle
- 11am – 2pm : Rain showers develop from west to east
- 2pm – 5pm : Periods of rain showers, temps tumble from low 70s to upper 50s.
- 6pm to 10pm : Scattered rain showers taper off
Saturday will be mainly cloudy, chilly and unsettled. Morning clouds and patchy areas of drizzle will spread across the Hudson Valley. An approaching cold front will spread scattered rain showers into the Hudson Valley by late morning or early afternoon on Saturday. Temps on Saturday will likely top out in the upper 60s to low 70s in the early afternoon hours, just ahead of the cold front passing through. As the front passes temps will tumble from the low 70s… into the 50s… by mid to late afternoon.
Futurecast Radar: 8am to 8pm Saturday
Scattered rain showers will continue through the early evening before tapering off well before midnight. From there, temperatures will tumble as the skies gradually clear.

The coldest night of the season so far is likely Saturday night into Sunday morning. A crisp start with temps in the low to mid 40s are possible… even some upper 30s in the coldest spots can’t be ruled out. Sunday looks like a beautiful autumn day, with highs in the upper 60s expected under mostly sunny skies. A gorgeous second half of the weekend, for anyone with outdoor activities planned.
That will kick off a trend of beautiful weather across the Hudson Valley, as high pressure settles in over the eastern US to start the week. Afternoon temps in the 70s, overnight lows in the low 50s, are expected through the early part of the week. We’ll continue to monitor everything as we go through the weekend, and share any important updates as we go. We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Enjoy, Hudson Valley!
