Tuesday Weather Discussion : Lingering Low Clouds

Big changes are in store for the Hudson Valley on Tuesday. Monday may have been mostly sunny with temps well into the 70s, but Tuesday looks to be a much cooler, much more unsettled day. Low clouds are expected to be trapped over the region, along with patchy areas of drizzle and a few scattered showers.
Temperatures will start out in the 50s on Tuesday morning… and hold there for much of the day. Clouds will be quite persistent around the region, with the best chances for breaks of sunshine being in the northern Hudson Valley. Where the sun does break through… temps should respond by climbing into the upper 60s. But where the clouds hold strong… temps will remain cooler, in the 50s. In addition, a line of showers and thunderstorms are possible between 5pm and 9pm across the valley. How widespread and intense these showers and storms will be, remains to be seen. We will track these through the afternoon on Tuesday.

Looking ahead to Wednesday… some similar conditions are expected. Mostly cloudy skies, with a few spot showers possible. Afternoon highs in the low to mid 60s are expected on Wednesday… with some slightly milder conditions possible on Thursday. Check back for more updates as we go through the week… or use the HVW website and throw your zip code into the Weather Time Machine for your local forecast. Have a great Tuesday, Hudson Valley!
